More Soccer Drama...

I decided that I would support my Son's soccer team instead of getting frustrated. So, I offered to get the team registered for our local UYSA Tournament over UEA. I sent out e-mails, I called parents, and talked to the Players who of course all want to play BUT you need the Parent's consent to play. And Guess what? I can't even get enough Parents to respond to get a full team to play.

I am disgusted, dismayed and damned. I thought that volunteering would release me from my frustration of feeling useless. I was wrong. I must have walked into this with my "Naivete hat" on because I had no idea how hard it was to get Parents involved. A lot of people would say "Shame on you"...you should have known better than to think you could make a difference. But, I haven't given up yet. I just don't understand why people don't even have the courtsey to call me back!!! It is so RUDE! Oh, well...I will I still have 32 hours to get 3 more boys! I don't think that is asking too much do you?

It is very hard to get parents involved. It doesn't mean you are useless for trying though. You can get the 3 kids I know it.

Not asking too much at all. Where I come from, the problem is having enough transportation to take all the kids who want to play. Parents are very involved. Too bad for those boys if the parents aren't supportive. Don't give up!
